A memorial account has been opened with B.M.I Federal Credit Union to return the remains of Mrs. Rose Nkong Etchi to Cameroon to join her ancestors. She slept in the Lord’s Hands in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday, May 27, 2012. The funeral home costs, transportation fares, and funeral costs in Cameroon, are significant. If you would like to make a donation to help defray some of these costs, please deposit your contribution in the following account and notify the family.

           With gratitude to God for a life well lived, The Etchi Family of Bachuo-Ntai, the Fontem Royal Family, and the Mbe Tazi Family announce the Wake-keeping program for their beloved wife, mother, daughter & sister, Mrs. Rose Nkong Etchi, who slept in the Lord’s Hands in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday, May 27, 2012.  

 

            Born about 1954, Rose Nkong was the first child/daughter (Emeh Asaba) of the ten children of Mbe Tazi Ate’awung VIII and Princess Mary Atemnkeng Tazi of Njeh-Mveh  Fontem.

 

            After schooling in Fontem and Kumba, Rose met and married Mr. Joseph Etchi of Bachuo-Ntai, who passed away in 1994. They were blessed with seven children: Olive Emengu, (Ohio); Collette Emeka (deceased, 2006); Richard Enow, (Ohio); Nkeng Etchi-Nkengeh, (Ohio); Bertus Agbor (Ohio); Nkafu (Ohio); and Atemnkeng (Ohio). She also leaves behind two grand children, hundreds of uncles, aunts, nephew, nieces, and thousands of friends and well-wishers worldwide to mourn her.

 

           Her seven younger living siblings in their order of birth are: Julie Efiaboh Lekeaka (Lekong-Fontem); Mbe Tazi Ate’awung IX, (MD); Prodencia Nkongho (OH), George Tazi (OH), Asongacha Tazi (OH), John Tazi (MD) and Alemngeh Tazi (MD).

 

           In death, Rose is now reunited in Heaven with her husband, Joe Etchi; her father, Mbe Tazi Ate’awung VII; her mother, Princess Mary Atem Tazi; her grand father, Fontem Defang;  her grand mother, Mami Agnes Nkeng Fontem; her daughter Collette; and all those who have gone before her.
